The magnificent 12! asThomas returns to boot Cwm to remarkable victory !
It was a tale of two halves and a rash of yellow cards at Tennant Park which ended with Cwm gaining four valuable league points and the double against Skewen.
This seemed a long way off at the outset as the home side rumbled over for a converted try from veteran prop Alan Bevan, Cwm then reponded with a penalty from returning Cwm full back Peter Thomas before sin bins for Trystan Manning, Daniel Jones and Craig Jones left Cwm with only Twelve men on the pitch for some 7 minutes . This gave Skewen the ascendancy which they turned into points with a converted try by ex Cwm player Chirs O,Conner
Cwms defence against the odds was magnificent and on the stroke of half time Thomas kicked a long range penalty to make the interval score 14-6
It was all Cwmllynfell in the second half and with Skewen now incurring the wrath of the yellow card bearing referee the Blues twice held a man advantage .
Skipper Alun Sterle reduced the deficit with a 30yard try and no8 Clive Llewellyn crashed over for the games decisive score . Thomas added the extras on both occasions and also goaled two long range penalties to cap a sublime kicking display which ensured a comprehensive victory for the Blue&Blacks and left the home team &supporters wondering how they managed to throw away what on the half hour was a 11point and 3 man advantage !!
Best team performance for many a season from Cwmllynfell
Final Score Skewen 14 Cwmllynfell 26
