CWMLLYNFELL RFC

Second shield win for Cwm at Cwmtawe 7777s

cwm regained the shield for local clubs at the cwmtawe 777s in emphatic fashion thrashing rivals Brynamman by 5 tries to 1 in the the final running out easy winners by 27-7 in the end

A young team [ except evergreen jim morgan ] reached the knock out stages with a match to spare by beating Alltwen , Vardre and Trebanos -In the last group game coaches M Harries and G Evans rested a number of players but cwm should still have won but mumbles sneaked through at the death and also made the semis

In the semis Cwm struggled early on against a physical Pntardawe 7 but class and pace showed through with the blues well led by A Sterle winning 26-10 in the end
In the other semi Mumbles ran a Brynamman side who had a sprinkling of ex cwm players in their ranks close but the greens pulled through 12-7 to set up a local derby final - to be refed by N Owen whose last game was the all blacks v springboks in the tri nations !
The final was one sided as a classy performance by cwm led by centre G Drewston [4 tries] and hooker on the day Deech Jones saw cwm run away with the shield
