Welsh club rugby scoring record for Cwmllynfell
Cwm re wrote the WRU record books with a huge win against a make shift Old Parish outfit and ran in 23 tries in the process as the Blues crushed the vistors who were even reduced to using passive scrums from the start
Cwm scored fom the kick off throgh excellent full back A Rees and within 5 minutes had even scored the 4th bonus point try
Cwm then racked up the points with wing Owen James setting a new club record of 7 tries and 3 conversions to give him a 41 point tally
Jim Morgan scored a first half hat trick and added a 4th after the break whilst strong wing Gareth Kingman scored 5 tries in all .
Further tries were scored by A Rees ,T Manning ,O Williams ,A Wilkins, S Hughes, D John and Alex Davies who also added 5 second half converstions after replacing Craig Jones who had booted 9 first half conversions - yet another record
Maesteg never gave up they were just ougunned outfought and and out ran but in credit they just kept going - and long serving centre Epton scored 2 converted tries to give thier big travelling support something to cheer about on for once a warm balmy day at Parc y Bryn
A massive win it was ,-and a swalec league record but it certainly was no advert for a good rugby football game and it was really sad to see such a proud and famous outfit as the old Parish who were in division 1w last year land up on the end of such a beating
Unbeaten Cwm can now move on to challange for promotion at the top of div 2W after thier fine start.
For Maesteg its got to be about just survival this season
all who love welsh rugby will I am sure hope they make it
Final Score Cwmllynfell 149 Maesteg 7
