Cwm take ground record on first ever visit to Crymych
Cwmllynfell gained an impressive win on the road over a spirited Crymych side playing thier first ever home fixture in divison 2 at parc Lloyd Thomas with Cwm also taking Crymychs season long home undefeated record
With a srong wind behind them and with evergreen prop John Davies spurring the home eight on Crymych made inroads into Cwms half and two Ianto Thomas penalties gave the home side an early 6-0 advantage . The Blues then started to master the wet and windy conditions and were unlucky not to be awarded a try when Owain Williams dived over in the corner
The home side hung on and ended the half 6-0 to the good which did not seem enough considering the strong wind coming off the Precselli mountains
Cwms pack soon took control second half and the backs with a clever mix of tactical kicking and strong running pinned Crymych back with Cwm opeining their account with a try from young flanker Dylan loughor converted from the touchline by C Jones
A rare home attack gave Ianto Thomas a third penalty but Cwm hit back when wing Owain Williams ghosted through to score and Jones added the extras and a penalty to put the Blues well ahead on the hour
Coach M Harris then rang the changes and a further try follwed from impressive wing Owen James before strong centre Tyrstan Manning who had run into brick walls for Cwms cause all game finally crashed over under the posts -both tries well converted by Subsitiute O/Half Alex Davies giving Cwm the bonos point. Davies then ran the game to the final whistle
On this form Cwm will prove a handfull for all in Div2 .
Crymych unfortunate to draw ex div 1 outfits Builth and Cwm as thier first two games in Div 2 now have a hard long season in front of them as they try to adapt to the higher level of rugby but did show glimpses up front of why they were div3W champions and not many will teams relish coming to Parc LLoyd Thomas this season to face a very well knit side who play for each other
Final score Crymych 9 Cwm 31
