Athletic Take Points as Cwm Squander Chances on Opening Day

Cwm missed three early try scoring chances and two missed kicks in an error strewn first half at Camarthens excellent new field. Then ill discipline by Prop Nicky Boyce led to a yellow card

This left in the Athletic and they scored 17 points with ex Llangennech o/s half Jones addng a try and two kicks as the home sides big pack took control.

On the stroke of half time Cwm man of the match Alun Sterl brorke free and scored with Peter Thomas adding the extras - 17=10 half time the second half was a dour affair as the Athletic plyed a forward game and then defended the lead - a further missed chance for Cwm was followed by a late penalty for crossing under the cwm posts and Jones stepped up to take the bonus point away from the Blues a missed chance but an encoraging start for a new look team.
