 last gasp Bulls penalty denies Cwm a win at the Gore

Cwmllynfell were denied a rare win at Builth by a last gasp Thurston kick resulting from a silly penalty given away in a scrum on the Blues 25 .in the last play of the game

Cwm due to injury and illness were somewhat below full strength and in an error strewn first quarter gifted Thomas a try . Thurston added the extras and booted a long range penalty to give a very committed Bulls outfit 10 points and a miserable long afternoon beckoned for the Blues faithfull
Cwm however rallied and slowly took control via influential man of the match no 10 Criag Jones helpd by elusive centre Sam Hughes who made a number of clean breaks only for the last pass to go astrey or be dropped with the line at the Blues mercy .
 Up front the Bulls tried their usual up the jumper tactics but found Cwms class of 2011 a different propostion to previous years and came off seond best and cwm hit back with Jones slotting over a penalty to make it 10-3 to the Bulls . Thurston and Jones then exchnaged penalties to leave it 13-6 at the break at the break with the home prop also sent to the bin for persistent infringements in the loose
Cwm made the advange tell early in the 2nd half with Jones waltzing over for a try which he converted and then added a penalty to put Cwm ahead
Builth hit back with a Thurston penalty before a Jones kick restored the lead . Cwm then went for the win and only last ditch defence denied J morgan and live wire scrum half Williams.and outhalf Jones ,but with time running out Cwm despite injuries resulting in 10 forwards having to be on the field sensed a result - only to be denied at the death
On reflection it was 2 pts gained at the Gore for the Blues- -never an easy place to visit .
Builth looked an useful unit under thier new coaches and different to past years even tried to play some open rugby !! and will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. .Open rugby from the Bulls !!- what will J Pugh think of it all when he returns fom NZ !!
