Cwm gained thier frist try scoring bonus point for two seasons at Aberystwyth on Saturday with 4 trys in the first half - but that was as good as it gets as Aber dominated the second half to run out worthy winners
cwm lost their way on the long trip up to Aber and arrived late and things got worse as Trisatn Manning broke down in the warm up with a groin strain and straight after the start Geriant Evans playing at Full back had to be substituted with wing forward D jones moving to centre and veteran paul Davies slotting in at outhalf with Nic Danianovic going to fiull back
All this clearly unsettled Cwm and Aber raced into a 13-0 l lead before Cwm even got going .thanks to Cwm unforced errors and poor tackling
Cwm then finally got some phases together to allow capt A sturl to run in from 25yds. Diananovic added the extras and soon after Jim Morgan crashed in under the posts but the sitter of a conversion went wide
Cwm kept their running game going and after Criag kellys bulldozing runs down field made ground and space for a try by D jones after Cwm best spell of the half put . This put the visitors in front before Abers pack rumbled down field and again weak tackling let the home team in for a converted try .The game then got very scrappy with the refs interpretion of high tackles and the breakdown where Aber repeatedly used hands and infringed ,leaving cwms faithfull supporters bemused to say the least
Cwm then somehow managed to get good poseesion and Jm Morgan scored a second try far out to make it 20-22 at the break for the Blues
The second half started brightly for Cwm witha typical A luther break from his own 22 leaving him clear with 20 yards to go and the cover defence outpaced - Luther however fed C Oconner on he inside and Oconner was over under the post - so we all thought but the ref who ruled a forward pass - This was the truning point of the game
Abers big pack ad kicking half backs then kept possesion and played the game in Cwms half with Aber pushing Cwm back off the ball at scrum after scrum and gradually the points came to leave Aber 31 -21 in front with 15 minutes left
Cwm finally broke up field and after som nice breaks Aber went offside and Diananovic slotted over a 45 penalty to put Cwm within a score of the lead
Aber however kicked off long from the restart and Cwm wing was yellow carded for - dont ask I havent clue what for !!
With cwm down to 14 men and Aber winning all the possesion at the set and loose it was game over for the blues and with the Aber pack dominating now in all phases Cwm were pushed off the ball on thier own scrum 22 for Aber to seal the match
-a fifth try follwed as Aber ran out comfortable winners and the blues were left again looking lost wondering where and why had it gone all so wrong-
But at least there is a rare 4 try bonus point secured and Aber look as if they could be handful at home this season for the rest of the division - even after teams find the field after the long drive up from the south !!!
Final Score
